A quick note on scope: a handful of businesses that would have otherwise placed in our initial data pull were removed from this list because they are part of larger regional or national chains rather than independently operated Phoenix businesses. That includes multi-location chains with locations outside of Arizona, as well as one national franchise operation with hundreds of locations across the country. We removed five such listings from the original dataset so this ranking reflects locally rooted, independently owned salons as closely as possible. It is worth noting that several businesses on this list do operate more than one location within the Phoenix area, such as Element Nail Bar and Aria Nail Bar. In those cases we confirmed each location is either separately owned and independently scored, or shares a single Arizona-only footprint, before including it.
